Mastering a skill of value in the long-term is hard. Here are two ways to help that: increase your love of curiosity, and improve your attention.
Arguably the first is the seed of a happy life. When constantly curious you’ll always be looking for why things work and how to make them better. Learning is a true pleasure because it changes your perspective. Ask yourself five questions a day about what’s going on around you and why it’s happening the way it is.
The skill of focus can be honed through meditation. Set a timer for five minutes, sit down and close your eyes. Focus on your breath. When your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to the breath. Many studies show this is a trainable skill.
Cultivate love and curiosity of your environment. Train your ability to focus on the now. Then build something worth existing.
