When it comes to feeling good, everybody wins. Take the journey one step at a time. Yelling solves few problems. Anything you write can be a poem. It can be easy to get locked into beliefs about how hard life is, but it's make-believe. Don't change the status quo by acting on the same level. Don't try to do too much. There's always more than one way to make it work. Intelligence is not the final arbitrator of success, but it has powerful leverage. Soon you will have something better. The problem is not that someone will steal your idea, but that you won't be able to get it off the ground yourself. You need to publish. Remember the cardinal rule: Sleep. Relax. Cool off. The world will never end. Reality and human ingenuity are incredible. You never know what something will eventually be used for. You have to get out there. You can't anticipate how other people think. You can't rush toward success. Record what works. One view cannot probe its own mysteries. You learn by going. ramble_ty11.11.11zm5d5s_nb_5 You like what you make more than you otherwise would. Put boots on the field. Change it. Make it better. Understand why it exists. Not having a pocket notebook can be like getting an appendage cut off. Refraining from gossip is a long-term strategy. Don't confuse where you come from with where you can go. You get more of what you pay attention to. Life is about answering questions in-place. It's amazing how different things can look. Humanness is composed of other people's humanness. "You can learn tricks but really you've just got to do it." Captivate the imagination. There are a lot of good people out there. Things are deeper than appearances. The old stuff is good because the bad wasn't propagated. Humanity is older and younger than you can imagine. Sometimes by you changing it gives the feeling of others having changed. More complexity can be more fragility. Small things can change the entire experience. Little things compound. Fit the stories to the interests of the audience. Your desires adapt to the world you find yourself in. Preconceptions affect feelings. The problem is not the tools but the motivation to use them. Corners change things. "Instruct and delight." You get out what you put in. Don't go overboard. Keep things simple. Things exist the way they are for a reason. There are no objective rules of life, only personal ones. Sometimes you need to be jolted awake. Pain is rushing. Work gets easier as humanity advances. Thought isn't magic. Synthesize something new. The past cannot understand the future's obsessions. Many things you want to do. Few things you need to do. What is more important to you: quality or quantity? Indecision racks the brain. Do not attack the world. Design around it. Design outside it. Anticipation builds pressure and passion. Regularly take a high-level view. Don't condemn what other people like. The harder you work the stronger you'll get. You know in your heart what's right. ramble_ty11.11.12zm5d6s_nb_5 The ancestors do not determine the abilities but they do influence the preferences. Find things that complement each other. Seek the simple. Stay away from things that make you lock up. Stand up and break away. What's the most impactful thing you could do right now? The purpose of accomplishment is peace. How do you do it? You practice. Practice teaches. It's when you let go that you have true control. Take it one step at a time and you won't stumble. You can become good at whatever you invest time into. You can think through multiple thoughts at once. Self-ownership doesn't make any more sense than a self. When you buy something and immediately have to start fixing it, something is wrong. Experience can make up for slowness. ramble_ty11.11.13zm5d7s_nb_5 How do you understand others? It can be hard to maintain balance. No matter how bad someone is, someone else out there is worse. Be glad you aren't dealing with them. Believe in yourself. Have few things and get good stuff. Plan like you're going to live forever. Live like you're going to die today. Washing dishes can be soothing. "Make speed, not haste." ramble_ty11.11.14zm5d1s_nb_5 Great ideas are often adaptations. Step by step you can elevate out of the murky confusion. Even if you can't make it better, at least don't make it worse. Try visualizing every detail of the system. "Dreams are memories that crystallize while the body is still, not stirring, and the mind is cooling, not warm." [ .meta this is a model Understand self-reflective systems from the top down. All intelligence, life even, is a reflective system that modifies the rules about how and when rules are modified. A reflective system wraps in on itself and produces fantastically complex behavior. When analyzing from the top down, seek to understand your emotions, intuitions, and thoughts in ever finer granular detail, instead of trying to construct it totally from the bottom-up from scratch. Bottom-up can be harder because scaffolding for one level can be built and maintained at another level. If you try to build from scratch it can quickly become overwhelming. You already have brains, intelligence, life: Try to understand your basic and personal motives and you can get closer to the truth than by designing a bottom-up system based on first principles. In life, and many complex phenomena, there can be too many first principles to keep track of, and they edit each other and have special cases and strange hacks using obscure techniques. These hacks can propagate more effectively than a top-down system because they have more ways to change. They can be massively redundant and interrelated. Each bit of change can add to the amount of adaptability. By having so many rules it can use them to become self-perpetuating, then self-reflective. Each new rule can help something adapt. ] Benefits of government come at the cost of government. Try new things to learn new things. The important comes from the inside. The urgent comes from the outside. "I'm always calmer after journaling." "Even if it's a open-book test, you still have to know where to look." Life isn't about complaining. "I'm just as confused as you are." Brains don't make direct recordings. Know how to get the answer. That's what's important. ramble_ty11.11.15zm5d2s_nb_5 Until you actually verify, you don't know. "Nothing is wasted." You don't make better decisions while tired. If there _is_ a way, it's not found by saying there is no way. Ideas have origins. There will be better ideas in the future. Don't be scared. That doesn't help these days. People crave feedback, but they are not taught to give it. Let it go. No leaf falls the same way. Low speed for a large revolution. You need high torque and smooth change. Verbalize the little things you appreciate. Be thankful for the people you make smile. Don't disregard elders. They have massive experience, and that can lead to more insight than raw intelligence. "Have you noticed how much a person can change in a year?" What do you have to do first? Hard work gets rewards. Tradition is not a good reason for belief. Why is that like that? Complexity encourages nuance. How does it work? Practice builds technique. Set the stage, first. There is no level cap on consciousness. Teach. Learn how to go. Humans have figured out many things. Make them laugh. The cycle up and down adds depth. Give yourself time. You are young. Consider your ancestors. "How do you perceive me?" It's a presumption to assume things can't be understood. People are concerned with themselves. There can be a narrative to reality. If you have heart you learn things naturally. Proper preparation yields results. Everyone is insecure. You can do things alone but it can take longer. Humans love technology. Tropes create themselves. You can't swallow distaste. ramble_ty11.11.16zm5d3s_nb_5 Different people like different things. Every little bit helps. No one can change you life as much as you. Slow change lasts. You don't have to wait for science. Try things. Peace is when you aren't grabbing. There are people better than you but you aren't them. There are people worse than you but you aren't them. It can be hard to reduce complexity. Doing what is possible but hard is enough to make the future arrive. When first starting, try the defaults. Why choose to believe that you can't explain? You can't fight sleep and win. It gets easier as you do it more. There are no limits to how much you can learn and remember. Why are you doing this to yourself? More knowledge means more patterns you can perceive. You still might be wrong. Movement feeds off itself. "A person can go a long way after they're tired." [fin]
