To persistence in the face of failure.
"Do what is right. Serve nature."
You create value by being willing to tolerate not knowing what to do.
Look at the trade-offs. Is it worth it?
If you always aim too precisely you may miss in the same way.
Helpful words are worth gold.
Don't try to push away thoughts: Pull and overflow the thought buffer.
Passive-aggression doesn't promote honest discussion.
Better to be great to one than mediocre to most.
"After ten years it was an overnight success."
Eliminate distractions.
"It's a numbers game."
Complaining about not receiving thanks doesn't make it more likely.
Things seem bigger in the past because the small things didn't last.
[
What prompted the waking from the dream felt like a very tiny group of cells in the brain.
I was dreaming, when I suddenly had the distinct feeling of a question being asked, a small group of neurons in the forebrain lighting up, and upon not having the correct response to the question being given from the senses, the small group in the forebrain lit up some more questions and bootstrapped me out of sleep.
It felt like a distinct operation of checking reality against previous patterns and calling up more powerful pattern matchers when those failed.
]
The operation of the brain from the inside of the constructed mind can seem opaque.
People remember how you make them feel.
[
It's perhaps not simple to calm the mind, to prevent certain thoughts and promote others.
The mind can be like lightning flashes across a weave of conducting materials with no way to stop the lightning.
Perhaps a lightning storm can't be destroyed, but you can use rods to change the distribution pattern.
How do you ground yourself in what is important?
Understand what you already are.
A mind is perhaps not suited to identify itself, for it is looking with and through its own biases, yet a separate mind has this same lens issue from a different perspective.
There may indeed be no way to escape from the limited-perspective issue. It may be a limitation of nature as a self-aware being.
You have nothing to prove to anyone.
If a question concerns you, don't turn your back just because other people said there was no reason to search.
That is not being genuine to yourself, perhaps the only person you can hold consistently toward truth.
Do not think your method of search must be too serious.
Keep the sense of fun.
It'll be okay, have some fun, and don't lose your confidence or belief in change for the better.
]
Perhaps in choosing viewpoints for life there are only local answers, not a global best, since each viewpoint views the others differently.
Complex systems proceed one step at a time, on different levels and locales.
You can't watch everything.
Focus on what's important.
Open up chasms of thought.
What is your aim?
Changing it up is how you find what works.
We all want a meaningful life.
Let the patterns emerge.
Working for the betterment of others promotes them in your eyes and you in their eyes.
Humble people are first confident.
[
.meta this is a model
How do you determine what to do?
How do you determine what strategy to use?
Understand the question.
Identify known ways of answering it and related data.
See how well it fits, and do it.
Check and compare and see what you can learn and use for new questions.
Influence your life in a positive, slow, and sustainable way.
You are always in cycles of moods; you are never objective.
You tend to set aims when you're in a better, more positive outlook of the future.
When you're sad, you're not interested in the future.
When you recognize that you're in a cycle and will both soon be lower and soon be higher, you are actually in a more objective place to set aims.
The aims still must have meaning in your overall life perspective.
How does a happy person act?
They smile, they joke, they're interested in the world.
The happy person expects better things in the future and is content with their life now.
On all levels, past, present, future, and Now, the happy person is satisfied.
They let bygones be bygones, they're well-situated, and they're not filled with worry or longing.
They're self-realized and comfortable with themself.
How does a happy person view confusion?
They view it on a high-level; they remember and keep in their mind all the times in the past that the confusion dissipated.
The happy person sees their current confusion as a way to learn, a process to be explored.
Instead of shutting their eyes to the possibilities, they embrace new growth, though it often hurts and there is risk.
The happy person is at peace with themself and their situation.
]
It's hard to think when uncomfortable.
Some things spontaneously improve.
Don't worry about consistency-of-self over time.
Focus on growth.
Enjoy just laying and being comfortable.
It will be what it is. It's not going to be anything else.
Enjoy the little things; they're all you really have.
Stretch.
Reset your perspective.
Find joy in erasing your consciousness.
Understanding what's important is hard work.
Failure is allowed.
Things should make sense.
Adults are kids at heart.
Keep exploring.
"Praise effort, not outcomes."
Focus on the thing that's bothering you the most.
For things to get better they have to change.
"The only thing I'm competing against is death."
"I'm in the asking business."
"We like to feel helpful."
It's a big, big world.
Don't assume malevolence when ignorance will suffice.
Don't let routine get in the way of growth.
Tell stories for a purpose.
Reputations exist for a reason.
Action erases fear.
Games allow us to live in the imaginations of others.
Don't accept guilt-tripping.
Grow in your experiences.
You can be mindful without changing anything about how you're acting.
Peace is cultivated.
Is this something that really matters?
Expect good news.
Peace can be yours.
Fighting pain creates suffering.
Go slow and enjoy the experience.
Step back and see the big picture.
There is something to learn even from ignorance.
Play with words.
Balance overall impact with immediate benefits.
You don't need much to be content.
Cultivate what surrounds you.
Close your eyes and consider the important.
Enjoy more.
Hold the Now in awareness.
You are what you are, nothing more nor less.
You'll burn out faster if you go too fast.
Progress is fueled by math and technology.
If you take care of each specific case then the general case will take care of itself.
Know what you're living for.
Have self-compassion.
All of your selves are in this together.
Love is understanding and appreciating.
Are you worried about you? Don't. You don't exist. Just be.
You can meditate with your eyes open.
There is so much good.
Words change things.
What is it that you want to be?
Life can be much broader than any assumptions you make.
You can gain insight by trying something different.
A person can go a long way after they're tired.
It can be physically painful to admit you're wrong.
Learning how to answer a question is part of the question.
Don't get too far ahead of yourself.
Savor every little thing.
Be a good learner.
See with a spirit of abundance.
When you learn about others it teaches you about yourself.
"20th century: The car, airplane, computer, and Internet. 21st century: Woah."
"How did people do this before they had this technology?" ... "Very slowly."
Sleep can sometimes do the most amount of good in the shortest amount of time.
Math is patterns.
"It's incredible how much the world has changed in the past 10 years."
Your perspectives change what you notice.
Make something you love.
Differences with others are places of growth.
Seek better thoughts.
Focus on the important ideas.
Take notes on life.
Diversify your investments of time.
You have plenty of time. Focus on learning it properly.
Every experience you have is a memory and input into the next experience. Don't take any one thing too seriously. It's all a learning experience, not a matter of life and death.
If you remember but don't know how to access the memory, you effectively don't remember.
Try thinking on paper.
Stay awake while not moving and you can fall asleep.
Refactoring is one of the most important things you can do in life.
The fool's words ring true to them.
You grow through struggle, which allows you to overcome tougher struggle.
Make learning the basics fun and you'll go far.
It's very disrespectful to interrupt people.
Things can be unimaginably worse and better.
Embrace everything.
Great distances require great journeys.
Beware other-optimizing.
Praise, don't gossip.
"All I know is life is _really_ long."
You can interest if you don't know how to do it and don't know how to learn how to do it.
Don't be afraid of yourself.
There's no perfect way to be.
Experienced-happiness and remembered-happiness are separate tools.
Stretch yourself.
Try being more agreeable.
You must be able to breathe for it to be sustainable.
Start small.
You cannot imagine what is beyond your grasp.
Emotions and thoughts are inherently intertwined.
You must grow at your pace.
Love is cultivated.
What do you most want to see grow?
Are you afraid of being a failure in the future?
With understanding comes confidence.
What is your aim?
Sensors are senses.
You are whoever you are going to be.
Take the long-view.
Look at the lens you see the world with.
You can do it.
As an animal on a planet, how can you use this viewpoint to live a better life?
View with wonder.
Be thankful for the Sun.
Never forget your struggle to find purpose.
Don't put yourself down.
Put first things first.
If you don't _know_ the most important thing to do, work on what you _think_ it is.
Devote yourself to enjoying life.
Life is awesome.
Be unbelievably good.
Treat with respect to earn respect.
People like to feel helpful.
Sometimes losing something helps you get a new version.
True freedom comes from freeing your self.
"I know nothing."
Try to let go.
Step into dreams.
Take care of the bulk and the details separately.
Keep your focus on the moment.
Try being someone else: It may actually be closer to who you really are.
"You could have waited thirty seconds and fared much better."
Compare yourself to your past, not to others.
Sometimes you have to use it to learn how to use it.
Take it one sentence at a time.
How can you systematically think?
How can you improve human communication?
Exercise control over your breathing.
A little preparation can go a long way.
Flexibility induces comfort.
A moment is a long time.
You can learn anything.
Refactor.
The contrast in the gradient brings out the true feelings.
You never know what you're going to learn.
Notice the air around you.
Life will get better.
Learn how to be miserable.
Stay in tune with yourself.
If you were teaching a class about this experience, how could you explain it?
You are an alien.
Do more with less time.
Get in the flow.
You're not a thing.
Concentrate on every step.
Look where you're headed.
Enjoy every moment.
Nobody is usual.
Life is not a race.
There is nothing that must be done.
Starting is the hardest.
Know when to stop.
You can learn math on your own.
Enjoy it to sustainably do it.
Nothing lasts except your character.
You can only grow at your own pace.
Go too fast and you'll miss the blessings.
Redirect, don't oppose.
Practice is essential.
It's usually better to clarify than assume.
Whatever you apply your mind to you can do.
Write about you perceive the world.
Half-done is in your head.
View life with love.
You will always forget something.
You have learned.
You can make something really good.
You'll forget about the pain so be sure the reward is great.
Fear recedes when you know what to expect.
Always be changing.
You are the way you see the world.
You've got time.
We're all little things.
Go play in the dirt.
The stars will share their perspective if you look.
Explore the bounds of a sensation.
Savor every moment.
Focus on the chronic.
You expand what you focus on.
You may feel overwhelmed now, but you can learn.
Understanding is not a race.
What's holding you back?
What matters are the details of the implementation.
Math will always be helpful.
Be someone who lets go.
Convert resources into experiences.
It's nicer to be mindful.
What _can_ you do?
Have faith. It will work out.
Your character is the most important thing. Focus on that.
You are alive right now. Make it count.
Assumptions drive behavior.
Pain redirects the mind.
Smile, right here, right now. Isn't that better?
Focus on taking it slow and savoring each moment.
You don't have to be the best to do something worthwhile.
It's not about how strong you are: It's about how far you're willing to go.
Commitments are imaginary.
Learn self-confidence.
Advance by creating.
Make every moment worth something.
Be thankful for the warmth you do have.
Flexibility aids longevity.
Things change.
Don't be intimidated.
Be sweet and firm.
Magic happens through study.
Sometimes your judgment of your skills is impaired.
Put what you learn to use.
Invest attention.
You are affected by incentives.
Track your progress.
How do you actually do it?
Mystery has your back. Proceed without fear.
Indecision can be worse than wrong decision.
A half-rested mind churns inefficiently.
Life on Earth is older than rocks on Earth.
Let go and just be.
You're still a kid and you always will be.
What is it you can do? What is it you love to do? What is it you should do?
Life is movement.
Describe the fear.
What are you doing right now?
You don't have to _do_ anything to be happy.
You extend your consciousness to your tools.
It depends on what you expect.
"Math is hard, but also beautiful."
Go forth and create.
Delivery affects reception of content.
What are you rushing for?
You can understand.
Constraints are imaginary.
One person helped a day is a success.
Cultivate variety.
Love learning for its own sake.
Being awake is better than being asleep, but there must be balance.
Peers are imaginary. Do not live by their assumptions.
Great work takes time.
Fear can be a teacher. You can learn.
Be rigorous.
