A few things to take into account: // You don't know how your body will respond to any particular change. If you take everything at once and something isn't right you wont know what to change! // Your body needs to adapt to what you are giving it. Titrating up/down is a good idea. // Too much E2 all of the sudden can give you morning sickness which is not fun. // Transition is slow, dumping a bunch of drugs in your system isn't going to change that. No matter what you wish, breasts take (2-5) years to grow. Your T or E levels might not be perfect, but you are having fantastic results. When working with your doctor (or not) an important component to bring on your side is a list of changes you have noticed to discussing along with lab work. It can be used in transgender females both in combination with an estrogen and alone. The medication directly blocks the effects of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone in the body, and, when used by itself, also induces a significant increase in estradiol levels. As a result, bicalutamide causes demasculinization, and can additionally promote feminization, even without concomitant use of an estrogen. This is analogous to what occurs in women with a defective AR due to complete androgen insensitivity syndrome. Demasculinizing and feminizing effects of bicalutamide in those assigned male at birth include breast development, reduced male-pattern hair, decreased muscle mass, feminine changes in fat distribution, decreased sex drive, and reduced spontaneous erections. In terms of products I will post my personal recommendations, as well as a commonly acclaimed option The products will come with clickable hyperlinks, if any do not work OR you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me @ alexx#8387 Section I: Importance of each product - Razors -- Blade Count: Razors will generally tell you how many blades they have, for legs, arms, and other bodily parts besides your face, having a 3 or 5 blade razor is highly important, as it will give you a closer shave with less nicking and tugging on smaller hairs. -- Handle: Generally, there will be 3 options for handles, either silicone, plastic (most common), more metal. It's generally up to personal preference, although I prefer metal because it has a slightly heavier feel, which I enjoy. -- Moisture Strips: Some razors will come with strips that will wick away excess cream, as well as moisturize skin to reduce breakage. This is in most reusable razors, however some have varying sizes and features along with it - Shaving Gel/Cream -- Ingredients: One of the important things to look for is ingredients such as aloe, oatmeal, or other anti-irritant or anti-dryness agents within shaving cream and gel. These help prevent ingrown hair, razor bumps, and strawberry skin -- Instructions: Shaving creams and gels vary from product to product, with some needing to be mixed with water, some needing to be shaken, rubbed, etc. Be sure to check with these for a more relaxing, smooth experience in terms of shaving -- Allergens (obviously): Be sure to check for any allergens or things you may be allergic to. When I began shaving I used a cucumber shaving cream that actually ended up giving me an allergic reaction, so be vigilant of possible allergens - Post Shave and Exfoliation -- Healing for the skin: Ideally, although variation can be good, you'd want to look for a balm/oil/other with things like Shea Butter, Glycerin, Allantoin, Aloe, and/or Sunflower oil (for repairing the skin) -- Refreshing, scents, etc.: Also be sure to check if you would like things like mint essential oils, which can give cooling relief for freshly shaved appendages, as well as any scents like lavender you wish to have. -- Consistency: You should apply some sort of post-shave balm, oil, or the likes every time you shave, otherwise you can get bumps, itchiness, and irritation from microscopic breaks in the skin, as well as the hair growing back. It also helps give a cooling sensation to make your post-shave experience more relaxing and refreshing -- Exfoliation: Generally, exfoliation comes in two main forms, either scrubs and balms, or small, soap filled patches which help knock off any dead skin or any other things that may be making skin uneven and less smooth. Consistent exfoliation can also help reduce razor bumps and strawberry skin, so its highly recommended, although not completely necessary Section II: Products (razors, creams, aftershave, etc.) Note: you will want at least one from each section (a shave gel/cream, a post shave balm or cream, and optionally exfoliation as well) - Personal Favorites: -- Shaving Gel/Cream: Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel(Fragrance Free) ( https://www.amazon.com/Aveeno-Therapeutic-Sensitive-Fragrances-Non-Comedogenic/dp/B0000536EY ) This is a shave gel, although it works similarly to shaving cream, however I find this has left the least "strawberry skin" and razor bumps, as well as softening my skin post shaving. -- Razor/Shaver: Gillette Venus Platinum Women's Razor(5 Blades) ( https://www.amazon.com/Gillette-Venus-Platinum-Smooth-Refills/dp/B072JKK9K1 ) This is actually just the "platinum" version of the commonly acclaimed Gillette Venus, however I personally prefer the metal handle, as I feel it gives me a better grip on the razor -- Post Shave Routine: --- Post Shave Balm: Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm ( https://www.amazon.com/Cremo-Cooling-Protect-Shaving-Irritation/dp/B076BVWTG6 ) This balm gives a cool, refreshing feeling after shaving, as well as helping to protect and repair razor bumps and dryness/irritation --- Exfoliation: Hempz Age Defying Herbal Body Scrub ( https://www.amazon.com/Hempz-Defying-Herbal-Scrub-Vanilla/dp/B00VAIZD2Q ) HempZ is actually one of my favorite brands with their body washes and scrubs, and the Herbal Body Scrub is a great scented, unisex body scrub which leaves skin feeling smooth and refreshed, with a gentle exfoliating agent, almost like a sugar scrub. - Commonly Acclaimed: -- Shaving Gel/Cream: eos Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream ( https://www.amazon.com/EOS-Ultra-Moisturizing-Lavender-Jasmine/dp/B0028FLM5M ) (Lavender Jasmine) I've actually tried this before, and it definitely deserves the praise it gets from magazines, newspapers, blogs, and the likes. It leaves a great, smooth feeling on the skin and is wonderful for shaving without strawberry skin and razor bumps -- Razor/Shaver: Gillette Venus Extra Smooth (5 Blades) ( https://www.amazon.com/Gillette-Venus-Extra-Smooth-Womens/dp/B000XVSNTQ ) As stated previously, this is the same razor I personally recommend, however this razor has a plastic/silicone handle, which some prefer as it gives a lighter feel and possibly better grip depending on your personal feel and hands. -- Post Shave Routine: --- Post Shave Balm: Cremo Unscented Post Shave Balm ( https://www.amazon.com/Cremo-Unscented-Clearing-Formula-Blemishes/dp/B076BVQSBL ) The same brand as my personal favorite, this delivers great post shave results, helping to repair skin and prevent razor bumps, however without the mint and scents, which may bother some folks. --- Exfoliation: Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub (Tropical Mango) ( https://www.amazon.com/Tree-Hut-Hydrating-Exfoliating-Nourishing/dp/B007DGRT3K ) Section III: Procedures, Tips, and Myths - Water Temperature: Make sure that the water is warm, not cold or lukewarm, as warm and hot water(not too hot as it can irritate skin post-shave) can push hair follicles to stand up as it rids them of oils and secretions from the Sebaceous gland. - Always apply shaving cream and post shave materials: While it may seem possible and might seem alright to skip over, from experience and research, attempting to shave with no preparation or after-shave can cause many more nicks and cuts, as well as razor bumps - Go with the grain, not against it: It may take a little bit longer or be a bit less of a clean shave than going against the grain, but going against the grain can cause more nicks and razor bumps post shave, and cause for more difficulties - Be sure to always have proper lighting: It's important to have proper lighting, especially if you have lighter colored hair, as it can be easy to miss certain spots or leave patches unfinished - As tempting as it may get, do not repeatedly shave over one area: If you consecutively shave one area many times, the skin may break or crack, you can always come back at the end but be sure to reapply any pre-shave gels or creams you put on before, so you do not harm your skin. - Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL around joints, ESPECIALLY ANKLES AND KNEECAPS: One of the biggest, most commonly knicked places is the kneecaps and ankles, because of the odd curvature and indents of the joints. Be especially careful when shaving these areas, and go as slow as you need to pay extra attention - Protip, if possible try to sit when shaving legs: It can be very helpful especially when attempting to shave the thigh areas of your legs, and areas that are harder to maneuver around, because you can be more relaxed - Nicks and cuts: First thing is to not freak out. Nicks and cuts, especially on the legs, knees, feet, and ankles may bleed more than you expect, but do not worry as they are mostly harmless, and for the most part, painless as well. Be sure to wash out and bandage these, and they should heal rather quickly. ""_ty20.7.17.1.58.58azm4d5s )) . She takes a cocktail of the antiandrogen spironolactone and estradiol, a form of estrogen. About five months into her treatment, she began experiencing a predictable pattern of symptoms: First would come the soreness and swelling in her chest along with bouts of nausea; the next day, she'd endure painful abdominal cramping lasting minutes at a time, as well as constant nausea, hot flashes, dizziness, photosensitive migraines, and bloating. This cycle, she says, lasts for about six to seven days and repeats roughly every five weeks. // If those symptoms sound familiar, it's because billions of cis women all over the world experience similar symptoms while menstruating. Along with insomnia, general muscle fatigue, joint pain, acne, and a host of other side effects, all the afflictions Ashley reported are symptomatic of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and/or premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)." ty20.12.3.4.01.40azm5d4s ty20.12.3.4.27.39azm5d4s .q [As they started noticing PMS symptoms coming every month, many of the women we spoke to started using period-tracking apps to know when to expect mood swings or cramping.
