This comes from a group chat.
well we’re all 13.8 billion
just have illusions of being different ages
like, think about it
if the egyptians make a pyramid
if they make a pyramid
and you read about it in a textbook
aren’t they still alive?
aren’t they still affecting your life?
they’re affecting how you act
just like a dog that licks your hand is affecting how you act
so if what you really are is all these influences
including really old ones
what sense does it really make to think of yourself as only how many times that genetic human has gone around the Sun?
you’re the interaction of all the things that have happened in the past
or
as Einstein might say
“People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.”
ie
is another person REALLY older than you
or are you patterns that are expressed as being a certain number of times around the sun
like
the occasional illusion of your separateness from others
is sometimes helpful
like, see antelope to eat, see lion and run
but you aren’t REALLY separate
gravitationally, how could you be?
so really certain patterns have the sensation of being younger
the illusion of it
because it’s sometimes helpful
but by recognizing it as illusion
peace follows
because you aren’t falsely thinking of yourself as worth less than another collection of patterns
you’re simply seeing yourself as a collection of patterns
with the occasional sense of youngness
but you’re the same age
you’re just mixed up a little differently
ie
the collection of patterns are differently organized
but is it really “younger”?
it can be defined as so
and scientifically, empirically, that can be helpful
like dividing organs from each other
or species as separate
but really it’s all ONE thing
how could it be otherwise?
gravitationally, in the very least?
so maybe it’s more like certain patterns in the collection are replaced
with more useful patterns
and this process can appear as aging
like old patterns that are less helpful dissolve
to be replaced by newer patterns
but the overall system is still one age
like
genetically
when humans are developing embryonically
they go through all the stages of the developmental processes of all the animals that evolved into it
like having gills
like fish
or having a tail
it’s reabsorbed
but genetically the pattern
the really old pattern
repeats itself
so
if you are a collection of patterns
and one of the patterns is the evolutionary development of the animals the human evolved from
then aren’t you also that pattern?
and if that pattern is billions of years old
like life of earth is 3+ billion years old
and all of us repeat the developmental stages of that
when we’re growing in the womb
then aren’t we REALLY 3+ billion years old?
at least that specific pattern of development that we arise from?
and if gravitationally all of nature is inextricably intertwined
then how can one person really be older than another?
are not all patterns the same age?
but
there are still of course differences
it’s hard to merge with a rock
but gravitationally
it’s all connected
