and yet on the subject of wise uses of time, there exists an interesting kind of reward for truly novel behavior, perhaps, a sort of “refined taste” that might be able to leap above the past tendencies, the past histories, and break through into truly virgin territory, perhaps
and on that note, perhaps, there might be a kind of “harnessable” sexual selection process, a way to redefine, reallocate the process in general and so become adept at a more underlying fundamental mechanism of evolution, of memetic change over time
and so perhaps there is aid in thinking about what that process of selection is, in the first place, that mechanism of selection by way of the null hypothesis of “beauty happens” (in contrast with the perhaps simplistic and cruder “everything has an evolutionary advantage in-the-moment, independent of historic behavior”)
and perhaps that parenthetical aside holds an interesting notion, that of the idea of if sexual selection is deterministic or not, that of the idea of a ‘species’ (generalized to memetics, of course) becoming too-adapted to its ‘sexual selective climate’ and reducing its propagation into the future, that of how a “sexually-selective” process might work if there are many different ‘sexes’ of memes, perhaps
from a deterministic question, there perhaps is no restriction against sexual selection (is there a more fundamental or precise term than “sexual”?); adding an inherent temporal dimension to a memetic evolutionary explanation is no true issue, perhaps—interacting patterns can have higher-order patterns which can mimic/(perfectly model) this sexual selection theory, perhaps
and that then might be somewhat of a cure, perhaps: if you represent a replicating pattern as a meme (a discrete information packet), then perhaps the interaction of those memes can _itself_ be a pattern, be a meme, and this could be perfectly in line, fundamentally, with the idea of the effect of sexual selection in biological evolution
that is, if sexual selection is a process by which different “sexes” (how to abstract this term?) affect the historic development of a meme, independent of the meme’s fitness to the non-memetic-species environment, then this might be encapsulable in non-biological terms, in more precise mathematical ideas
with regard to a generalization of the term “sex” from biology to the more mathematical, foundational memetics, what is “sex” referring to, precisely, in the biological sense?
